KT&G SangSang Madang is
hosting an exhibition of the winners of its 20th Anniversary Exhibition Support
Program, including “AI-Powered Art” and “First Public Work Support,” at the
SangSang Madang Hongdae Gallery until Oct. 12.
Launched to commemorate the 20th
anniversary of SangSang Madang, the program drew significant attention,
achieving a competitive ratio of 100:1 during the open call for submissions
held in March.
Following evaluation by a panel of
expert judges, Shin Gyo-myung was selected as the winner in the AI-Powered Art
category, and Lee Hyun-min was chosen in the First Public Work Support
category. Both artists are holding joint solo exhibitions titled “Portrait of
the Artist : After ‘Lee, Il-O’” and “The Social Planck Length,” respectively.
Detailed information about the exhibition is available on the SangSang Madang
website (www.sangsangmadang.com) and admission is free of charge.
KT&G Exhibition Manager Kim
Jeong-yun stated, “Through this project, we aim to look back on SangSang
Madang’s 20-year legacy of supporting culture and the arts, while also
exploring future trends in the cultural and artistic landscape. We will continue
our efforts to expand access to culture and the arts and to discover promising
emerging artists through a variety of support programs.”
Celebrating its 20th anniversary,
KT&G SangSang Madang has grown into one of Korea’s leading multi-cultural
spaces that support creative activities and connect the public with art. The
facility attracts around 3.2 million visitors annually. Since its launch as an
online community in 2005, SangSang Madang has expanded into five offline
multi-cultural spaces in Hongdae, Nonsan, Chuncheon, Daechi, and Busan—hosting
over 3,000 artistic and cultural programs every year.
