October 21, the KT&G Welfare Foundation held a compact car delivery ceremony at Seoul Grand Park in Gwacheon, with 200 persons related to social welfare agencies including Ho-kyung Lee, chairperson of
Korea association of senior welfare centers.

According to the social welfare professionals’ request that compact cars are suitable for maneuvering in narrow alleys where social welfare service is required, KT&G Welfare Foundation donated 100 compact cars annually, taking the total number it has handed over for free since 2004 to 1,200.

The 100 agencies that will receive the cars were selected through fair screening from 948 social welfare agencies across the country that have applied for them since July.
 
A KT&G Welfare Foundation official said, “We hope the compact cars that have been provided so far will tremendously help social workers who work hard for the underprivileged to perform their duties in the face of poor working conditions.”

KT&G Welfare Center, established in 2003, for more efficient social welfare realization, operates eight ‘Happy Network Welfare Centers’ for customized service for local community and provides professional welfare service for the underprivileged and local community including social welfare facility, low-income households, senior citizen, and the disables.
