KT&G SangSang Madang’s Open Call for Entries to the 18th Great Short Film Festival
Simultaneous applications open through June 9 across three categories to discover and
support outstanding short films
KT&G (CEO Bang Kyung-man) SangSang Madang is accepting submissions through June 9 for the 18th Great Short Film Festival. The festival is one of KT&G SangSang Madang’s signature cultural contribution programs, operated since 2007 to discover and support outstanding Korean short films.
Eligible submissions include short films under 20 minutes in length completed after June 1, 2025. Works that pass the preliminary screening will be screened at KT&G SangSang Madang Cinema from September 2 to 8. During the festival period, awards for outstanding works will also be presented based on audience evaluations and reviews conducted by a panel of professional judges.
In addition to the film submission category, applications are also being accepted for the “Great Short Film Production Support Project,” aimed at discovering outstanding screenplays, and the “Great Design Project,” which focuses on poster design, bringing the total number of categories open for submission to three. Applications for all categories will be accepted simultaneously through June 9.
The screenplay selected as the outstanding work will receive KRW 10 million in film production support, and the completed film will be screened as the opening film of the 19th Great Short Film Festival. Posters created through the “Great Design Project” will also be displayed in the lobby of KT&G SangSang Madang Cinema during the festival period, and an audience award will be presented based on viewers’ evaluations.
