KT&G SangSang Madang is accepting applications through April 24 for “2026 Youth Takeoff,” a program designed to discover and support university students aspiring to become musicians. “Youth Takeoff” is a newly launched music support initiative by KT&G SangSang Madang Hongdae, aimed at fostering creative activities by providing student musicians with opportunities for live performance production and collaboration with professional artists. Eligibility is open to teams whose members are all university students or participants in academic credit bank programs. Joint teams composed of students from different institutions are also eligible to apply. Applications are being accepted for approximately four weeks, from March 23 to April 24. Details and guidelines are available on the KT&G SangSang Madang website and its official Instagram account (@ssmadang.official). Two teams will be selected in the final round, with each receiving a grant of KRW 2 million, along with free weekday venue rental and opportunities to collaborate on performances with professional musicians. Kim Cheon-beom, Head of Performances at KT&G’s Cultural Contribution Department, stated, “Youth Takeoff provides aspiring student musicians with opportunities to gain stage experience and expand their musical capabilities. KT&G will continue to discover and nurture emerging artists through a variety of programs.” KT&G SangSang Madang serves as a multifaceted cultural and artistic space, supporting the creative activities of emerging artists while offering diverse cultural experiences to the public. Since its online launch in 2005, the platform has expanded to five locations, including Hongdae, Nonsan, Chuncheon, Daechi, and Busan, contributing to the development of regional culture and the broadening of cultural and artistic engagement. KT&G SangSang Madang hosts over 3,000 cultural and artistic programs every year.
