KT&G SangSang Madang Hosts “8th Over the Rainbow” Exhibition Supporting Artists with Disabilities...
Creative project broadening horizons across the arts and culture scene; final stop of this year's tour following Hongdae and Chuncheon
KT&G (CEO Bang Kyung-man) announced that KT&G SangSang Madang is hosting the Busan leg of the 8th "Over the Rainbow" exhibition tour, a curated showcase supporting artists with disabilities, at the KT&G SangSang Madang Busan Gallery until November 26.
Over the Rainbow has been jointly operated by KT&G SangSang Madang and the KT&G Welfare Foundation since 2018 to provide artists with disabilities opportunities to create new work and a platform to engage with the public. This exhibition marks the final stop of this year’s tour, following earlier showings in the Hongdae and Chuncheon.
Twelve participating artists created works inspired by their individual experiences and perspectives under the theme “Our Own Stars Shining Beyond the Rainbow.” More than 140 pieces are being presented—including paintings, illustrations, and sculptural works—developed through expert mentoring.
Kim Jeong-yun, the Exhibition Director of the KT&G Cultural Contribution Division, stated, “We hope the Over the Rainbow exhibition will serve as an opportunity for artists with disabilities to promote their work and communicate with the public. We will continue working to broaden the foundation of the cultural and artistic community and expand cultural enjoyment opportunities for local residents.”
Celebrating its 20th anniversary, KT&G SangSang Madang has grown into one of Korea’s leading multi-cultural spaces that support creative activities and connect the public with art. The facility attracts around 3.2 million visitors annually. Since its launch as an online community in 2005, SangSang Madang has expanded into five offline multi-cultural spaces in Hongdae, Nonsan, Chuncheon, Daechi, and Busan—hosting over 3,000 artistic and cultural programs every year.
