On November 11, KT&G announced that the company had been awarded the “2025 Korea Workplace of Excellent Reading Management” certification by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. This certification recognizes businesses that have made outstanding contributions to fostering a reading culture within their organization. KT&G has been consecutively selected as a Company of Reading Management Excellence for nine years, since receiving the certification for the first time in 2017. Within its headquarters, KT&G operates a dedicated reading space called SangSang Maru, where employees and external visitors can freely explore books across various fields. Moreover, the company offers a wide range of e-learning programs and subscription-based audiobook services to support the professional development and self-improvement of its employees. KT&G also invites renowned authors, including history lecturer Choi Tae-sung (author of The Usefulness of History) and Professor Kim Nan-do (author of Trend Korea), to conduct special reading lectures, further encouraging employee engagement with books and reinforcing the company’s reading culture. A KT&G representative commented, “By fostering a voluntary reading culture within our company, we cultivate creative thinking and strengthen corporate competitiveness. We will continue to develop and operate diverse reading programs to maintain sustainable reading management within the company.”
