The KT&G Scholarship Foundation has selected ballet students Kim Tae-eun, Jeon Ji-yul, and Jung Ah-ra as recipients of its 2026 Global Artist Support Program and awarded them scholarships. The Global Artist Support Program provides additional scholarships to current Arts & Culture Scholarship recipients who have won prizes at international competitions, helping them continue their artistic development. This year, three out of the foundation’s 40 ballet scholarship recipients were selected. Jung Ah-ra won first place in the Senior Women’s Solo Division at the Youth America Grand Prix, while Kim Tae-eun and Jeon Ji-yul placed 10th and 14th, respectively, at the Prix de Lausanne in Switzerland. The KT&G Scholarship Foundation launched its Arts & Culture Scholarship Program in 2016 to nurture talented young artists. Since then, it has supported 104 students, providing approximately KRW 2.6 billion in scholarships and educational programs. Notable recipients include Jeon Min-chul, a first soloist with Russia’s Mariinsky Ballet and grand prize winner at the 2025 Youth America Grand Prix, and Park Youn-jae, who won first prize and the Best Young Talent Award at the 2025 Prix de Lausanne in Switzerland. A KT&G Scholarship Foundation official said, “Through the Global Artist Support Program, we are helping talented young artists demonstrate their capabilities on the global stage. We will continue to provide a variety of programs to help talented and passionate youths pursue their dreams.” Established in 2008 as a public interest corporation to fulfill KT&G’s philosophy of being a “righteous company,” the foundation has carried out a wide range of domestic and international scholarship programs to support educationally isolated communities and foster future leaders. Additionally, the foundation selects and supports students in the cultural and artistic fields each year in partnership with the Korea Mecenat Association, contributing to the discovery of talented young artists.
