KT&G announced that it has delivered congratulatory gift sets, along with a message card from the CEO to 460 employees’ children entering elementary, middle, and high school. KT&G has held annual events to celebrate employees’ children entering school as part of its family-friendly program, “Gahwa Mansaseong.” “Gahwa Mansaseong,” meaning “a harmonious family leads to a successful company,” is a family-friendly initiative launched in 2017 to support employees in achieving work-life balance. This year, in particular, the company prepared customized gift sets designed with both children’s immune health and practicality in mind. The gift sets include red ginseng products such as Jung Kwan Jang’s “Hongi Janggun” and “I-Pass,” along with fabric pencil cases and personalized pencils engraved with each child’s name, tailored by age group. The same gift sets will also be delivered to the families of employees working overseas. KT&G has been fostering a family-friendly work environment by introducing an automatic childcare leave system in 2015, allowing employees to transition directly from maternity leave to childcare leave. The company also operates various programs, including a PC shutdown system to encourage employees to leave work on time, family care leave, an on-site daycare center, and a refresh leave granted every five years. In recognition of its exemplary family-friendly policies, KT&G was selected as an Outstanding Family-Friendly Company in 2018 and received a commendation from the Prime Minister. It has also maintained its Family-Friendly Company Certification from the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family since 2015.
