KT&G Supports Vulnerable Communities with Warm “Healthy Tea Set” Donation Campaign

to support elderly Seongdong-gu residents in need
On December 3, KT&G (CEO Bang Kyung-man) carried out the “‘Sangsang Nanum ON-Jeong’ Healthy Tea Set Donation Volunteer Activity” to help vulnerable groups during the winter season. Approximately 40 participants, including KT&G employees and young entrepreneurs based in Sangsang Planet, gathered at the Connect Hall on the first floor of KT&G Sangsang Planet building in Seongsu-dong, Seoul, to participate in the initiative.
Volunteers prepared handmade fruit extracts and carefully packaged tea sets to be donated. The “Healthy Tea Set,” which includes handmade fruit extracts and liquid vitamin supplements, was arranged to help reduce the heightened risks of common cold and pneumonia during winter. A total of 350 completed sets were delivered to senior households in vulnerable circumstances in Seongdong-gu.
Every year, KT&G operates its flagship social contribution program, “KT&G SangSang Sharing ON-Jeong,” to support marginalized groups during the year-end season. This year, the head office, sales branches, and manufacturing plants have worked together nationwide to conduct a variety of activities including kimchi sharing, provision of winter supplies and living expenses, and improvements to residential environments.
Kyeong Ah-young, Head of KT&G’s Social Contribution Division, stated, “We prepared these donations with sincerity, hoping that elderly residents facing hardship can enjoy a warmer winter,” adding, “KT&G will continue to carry out community-focused initiatives that promote mutual growth with local societies.”
The “KT&G SangSang Sharing ON-Jeong” program is supported through the company’s voluntary employee donation fund, the “SangSang Fund.” Established in 2011, the SangSang Fund is KT&G's social contribution initiative, where employees voluntarily donate a portion of their monthly salary, and the company matches their contributions through a matching grant program. The fund is utilized to support vulnerable communities in and out of Korea and to address urgent social issues.
